Dr. Roberta Van Zant

Dr. Van Zant practices Functional Medicine, focusing on individualized care to treat the root causes of illness and restore optimal health. She also emphasizes treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. She earned her medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Harrisburg Family Practice residency in Harrisburg PA. Dr. Van Zant then completed a Women’s Health Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria (UICOMP). Prior to opening her office Van Zant Medical Group, Dr. Van Zant worked at the Methodist Women’s Health Center, was a faculty member of the UICOMP Family Medicine Residency program, and then worked at the Methodist Center for Integrative Medicine.

Renae Callahan, FNP-C

Renae is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Nursing from St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bradley University. Prior to obtaining her NP certification, she worked as a pediatric nurse for over 10 years at OSF.  As a nurse practitioner, she has taught nursing students at Illinois Wesleyan University. Passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and fitness, Renae herself is a runner and enjoys group fitness classes.  At Van Zant Medical Group, Renae sees both adults and children of all ages using a functional medicine approach and applies a holistic approach to her patient care, incorporating mind, body, and spirit. She desires to help others achieve optimal health, prevent disease, and be the best possible version of themselves. 

Maureen Eisenberg, C-PNP

Maureen is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner with eleven years of pediatric nursing experience, including eight in pediatric primary care. She is fellowship certified through the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS), specializing in treating children with neurodevelopmental concerns and Autism Spectrum Disorder using a functional medicine approach. Maureen is passionate about empowering families to advocate for their children’s health. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Columbia University and also practices craniosacral therapy, being certified through the Upledger Institute. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, yoga, and spending time with her family.

Angy, Reception

Angy joined Van Zant Medical Group in 2018 and has been instrumental in its success, contributing to its design and warmly engaging with patients. Outside of work, she enjoys hosting at her lake house and creative design projects. Angy feels blessed by her family and loves meeting and helping new people at the practice.

Corrie, R.N.

Corrie began her nursing career in 2011 and has worked in intensive care, outpatient surgery, and fertility before joining Van Zant Medical Group. She is passionate about educating and empowering patients to take control of their health, believing nursing is her true calling from God. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, volunteering on her church’s worship team, hiking, and enjoying artisan coffee and the beach.

Melissa, L.P.N.

Melissa became a licensed professional nurse (LPN) in 2006, and has experience in many areas, including family medicine, behavioral health, pediatric home health, long term care and surgery. She joined Van Zant Medical Group in 2024 and works alongside Maureen in our Autism Spectrum Clinic. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her child and volunteering for school activities. Alison, Certified Medical Assistant

Alison earned her CMA from Midwest Technical Institute in March 2022 and has been with Van Zant Medical Group since May 2022. She enjoys working with patients and seeing their progress, bringing a kind heart and infectious laugh to the practice. In her free time, Alison loves spending time outdoors, camping by the lake with her two chihuahuas and dachshund.

Cathy, Phlebotomist, Health Lab

Cathy has over 35 years of experience as a phlebotomist and has been with Van Zant Medical Group since 2019. She has 2 children and 6 grandchildren, who have taught her patience and the importance of letting small things go. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys being with her grandchildren, cooking, listening to music, and doing yard work. We are grateful to have her as an incredible phlebotomist at our office!

About Our Practice

Van Zant Medical Group S.C. is a “cash based” medical practice. We do not participate in any insurance plan, nor bill insurance on behalf of the patient. Payment for services is expected on the day of the appointment.

Our practice does not act as a primary care office, nor provide any traditional primary care services. Our patients are expected to maintain a separate primary care doctor for urgent needs and traditional doctor’s visits.

Van Zant Medical Group, S.C. accepts Medicare patients; however, due to Medicare stipulations, Medicare patients are not be able to submit their office visit bill to Medicare for reimbursement.
